Navigazione Lago di Garda

The Boats and Ferries are an essential part of the Holiday and Transport requirements of Lake Garda, and provide convenient links between the many towns around the lake. The principal services operate between either Peschiera or Desenzano in the south and Riva in the north, but there are many extra services operating in the Peschiera, Garda, Sirmione, Desenzano area at the south end of the lake, and also in the Riva, Limone, Malcesine triangle in the north. Additional services operate across the lake, usually from Garda to Salo and Gardione and a regular Car Ferry operates between Torri de Benaco and Maderno. Some services are operated by Hydrofoils, which make much faster journey times but have higher fares.

We made extensive use of the Lake Garda boat services. The Ferry from Gardone to Sirmione was part of the itineray of the "Tour of Lake Garda" all day excursion. We used the boats for local journies out of Bardelino to Garda and Lazise and travelled across the lake to Salo, and returned by Hydrofoil (very quickly). All very enjoyable.
