Cardigan Bay

Here are a selection of photos taken at the various towns that overlook Cardigan Bay. So below are views of Barmouth, Dolgelly, Penmaenpool, Harlech, Talyllyn Lake, and the most recent addition, Aberdovey.

It is inevitable that any collection of photographs of the area will feature Barmouth. The view up the Mawddach Estuary has often been described as "The finest view in Britain". I would personally place it a close second, behind  Eig and Rum viewed from Arisaig in the West Highlands of Scotland.

The first group of photos unsurprisingly features  Barmouth, with the bridge prominent.  But the Welsh Dragon, and Ice Creams are well in evidence.

The second group of photos were taken at Aberdovey on a gloriously sunny, but very windy, September day in 2004.

The next group of photos features Dolgelly and Penmaenpool. At the latter the railway track bed of the one time Ruabon to Barmouth railway is well in evidence. It is now a walk/cycle way. Observe the immaculate Penmaenpool railway station, now a private residence, and the signal box, a wild life viewing centre.

A small  group of photos  of Harlech and Talyllyn lake, The first two photos can be described as Harlech Castle from the Sand dunes, and the Sand dunes from Harlech  Castle.
