Blackpool Trams & Buses

The Blackpool Tramway, dating from 1885, is the only surviving first generation tramway in the UK. 1985 marked the Tramway's centenary, and appropriate celebrations took place.

Only the promenade route from Starr Gate to Fleetwood survives, the town routes having all closed by the early 1960's.

The Photos below were taken in late May 2007, when the service comprised a 20 minute service on the Fleetwood to Starr Gate route, plus a 20 minute service between Cleveleys and Pleasure Beach. My visit was mid week, and no "Boats" or "Balloons" were in evidence.

The Bus photos were taken along the promenade and at Cleveleys.
