Below are a selection of
photos taken in June 2007. We chose the wrong day to travel up to
Rochers-de-Naye. Despite plenty of sunshine at Montreux, by the time our
train arrived at the summit, there was thick fog with snow on the
ground. After a light lunch at the cafe, we caught the next train down,
and decided to break our journey at Glion. We spent a pleasant hour or
so, then decided to continue our journey on foot, rather than by train.
What we hadn't realised that by the road footpath, the distance down was almost
double that of the rack railway, since the road zigzaged to lose
height. We were completely exhausted by the time we reached Montreux. |
