This was our third visit to Amsterdam. The first was a short break in 1981,
which included sea crossings and coach travel. The second was a 1 night stay in
1986 whilst heading for a Cruise down the Rhine and a week in Switzerland at Lugano.
Our 2003 visit was during September, was based on Air travel direct from
Birmingham, and 4 nights at the Hotel Nova, centrally situated close to
the heart of Amsterdam. The weather comprised three sunny days and one
very wet. We made one full day excursion to Medemblik, a delightful
small town on the edge of the Zuider Dee, travelling by rail from
Amsterdam Central to Hoorn, where we changed to the Hoorn &
Medemblik Narrow Gauge Railway. |
